Welcome to our Centre

Welcome to Guardian Childcare and Education Howlong, formerly Little Ones Early Learning Howlong.

Our purpose-built childcare centre in Howlong, located along the Murray River west of Albury, caters for children aged 6 weeks – 6 years. Our centre provides each child with a warm and secure environment where they can learn and grow.

At our Guardian Howlong, we believe that children have the right to learn and play in an environment where they will be included and supported in all aspects of their abilities, individual needs, interests and cultural requirements.

Our engaging learning programs support each child to learn through hands-on play. At our Howlong child care, children are given opportunities to engage their natural curiosity. Our nature- and play- based approach to education encourages children to explore their surroundings to develop their knowledge of ideas that they find interesting. We aim to teach children to focus on using their skills to navigate and understand the world around them.

Our dedicated Educators and degree-qualified Teachers are passionate about providing high levels of education and care. Each member of our team considers each child’s learning styles, abilities, interests, cultural diversity and family circumstances when planning and implementing learning programs. We support and respect the history and backgrounds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and aim to foster each child’s sense of identity.

Eligible children who turn 4 years old on or before 31 July 2024 will receive up to $2,110 in additional subsidies. This fee support is on top of any Child Care Subsidy eligible families may be receiving. If your child is 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on, or before 31 July in 2024 and is enrolled at our Centre, you will receive up to $500 in fee relief. Ask us for more information when you visit our Centre.

Tailored routines help smooth transitions and build important emotional regulation skills. The emphasis on social development through interaction and play-based learning boosts each child’s confidence and relationship-building abilities.

We value the strong relationships we build with families. Our goal is to work with our families to create a Centre that reflects family values and community. The open door policy at our Howlong early learning centre encourages families to come, stay and play with their children, and speak to our team about their child’s progress and development.

We see the local community as an extension of our Centre and we appreciate the importance of community in the education and care of all children. Through excursions, centre visits and connection with local groups, our aim is to embed the community into our curriculum.

Guardian Howlong is committed to our children and environment; not only now, but into the future. We understand how important it is to adopt and promote a range of sustainable practices to ensure that our actions are not harmful for the environment. Our Educators and Teachers encourage practices for children to realise the importance of caring for and protecting their environment.

From our Centre’s design, right through to the resources we provide and the learning experiences we deliver, our aim is to ensure that a sustainable approach is embedded in all aspects of our Centre.
